This is not a healthy recipe, nor am I willing to alter it to make it one.  This is a holiday recipe, so I only make it on a few occasions.  It came from my mom, who made it every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  While not in the “low-fat” category, this hot beef dip is absolutely in the yummy category.


1 – 8oz. package of cream cheese

1 Cup of sour cream

1 – 2-1/2 oz package of chipped beef – chopped

2 TBS of milk

¼ cup of chopped green pepper

2 TBS of dry onion flakes

½ tsp of garlic salt

¼ tsp of black pepper

½ Cup chopped pecans

2 TBS of butter


Warm the cream cheese slightly.  Combine the first eight ingredients and mix together.  After mixing place in a baking dish, dot the top with the butter, then cover with the pecans.  Bake about 20 minutes at 350 degrees or until the edges are bubbly.

Serve with crackers.
