Have I told you how much I love Steam Fresh veggies?  I know I’ve mentioned them before when making different meals, but I don’t think I’ve said much more about them.  I think Steam Fresh vegetables are one of the best things since sliced bread.   I love these for a few reasons: the convenience, the taste, the price, and the lack of kitchen ware needed. You just pop one of these bags in the microwave, heat it up, and that’s it.  They taste great, better than canned in my opinion.  They’re cheaper than buying fresh, I like fresh but buying fresh vegetables can be expensive especially in the winter.  I got these three packages of Steam Fresh vegetables on sale at my local grocery for just a dollar each.  I think the thing I love the most is the fact that you don’t have to dirty a pan to make these.  Half the time I don’t even use a serving dish.  Since we are trying to eat a lot more vegetables most of the time I just dump half the bag on each dinner plate.

These are also great when you’re cooking a big holiday meal because you don’t have to use the oven or stove.  This leaves them free for use on other things, plus you don’t have to watch the veggies to make sure they don’t over-cook or boil over, one less thing to worry about.  Besides, when you’re making one of those big meals, the vegetables are not the star of the table, that’s usually the turkey, ham, roast, or desert anyway. I made two bags of green beans for Thanksgiving (I threw some pre-sliced almonds on top for an extra bit of fancy) it worked out great! steam-fresh-ingredient
