For our last night, we figured you have to go to a buffet in Vegas, it’s one of the things they’re famous for.  It’s not like the old days, when the buffet was five dollars, but it’s still pretty darn good.  We chose the Grand Buffet at the MGM Grand.

They had tons of choices including prime rib, crab legs, shrimp, Chinese food, Italian food, lots of sides and desserts.  The salad bar had three different kinds of lettuce, but oddly not much else.  The food was very tasty but, thankfully, we refrained from stuffing ourselves silly this time.

After dinner, Dave wanted to go gamble, so I played slots with him for a while, then I parked myself at poker slots because I’m super cheaper and I can make my money last on that.  Plus I honestly get bored sitting at a slot machine pushing a button that makes my money dijane-and-dave-vegas-babysappear.

So Dave went on his merry way and wouldn’t ya know it ended up coming back a big winner!  Needless to say, Dave loved Vegas.  He’s already talking about “next time we go”, ut oh.  I had a good time, but it’s not my favorite place.  The food was awesome, the Hoover Dam impressive, and the place we stayed at was very nice.  However, the traffic there was terrible, it seemed crowded everywhere and if you’re a big cheap skate like me, and you don’t love to gamble, it’s probably not gonna be your favorite place.  Having said that Las Vegas is the gaudiest display of capitalism in the world, and for that reason alone, it’s someplace you should definitely see at least once.

We got back late last night, exhausted.  It’s funny that all you do is sit on the plane, but you come home tired, I even slept part of the way.  It was nice to have a real vacation, but now I’m glad to be home.  Today’s a new day, and it’s time to get back to business.  Thanksgiving is only a few days away, so it’s going to be a whirlwind of activity for me.  Just the beginning of a crazy fun season.
