After going out to a restaurant for dinner, I have looked up the nutritional numbers on a few meals that I’ve ordered. I have to say that after doing so, I feel much better about what I cook at home. I’m not sure that’s the right reaction to have, but that’s how I feel today. After all the stuff I cook doesn’t include trans-fat, nor does it tend to have 2660 mg of sodium in it, and I try to keep the saturated fat under 10 grams. Heck, even the tacos I make aren’t as fat laden as I thought when you compare them to some of the meals I’ve had at restaurants. Don’t get me wrong, I still think there bad for you. But, it’s been really frustrating to try to figure out what’s healthy, and how to try to eat “healthier”. Sometimes I feel like I’m getting nowhere. Now I know that I’m not doing so badly. I still need to come up with an overall plan of some sort, but little by little I’m starting to understand what that will eventually involve.
