I was at the supermarket today, and they had whole wheat pasta on sale.  I have already decided that the whole wheat pasta wasn’t nutritionally superior enough to warrant the extra expense, but is it tastier than the regular kind?  Even though it was on sale, it still cost more than the cheap regular kind, but  I thought we’d try it out to see how it tastes, who knows maybe we’ll like it more.

When I’m in a hurry, or haven’t gone shopping in a while, pasta is a good go-to meal.  It’s cheap, it’s easy to cook, it’s fast, and it keeps in the pantry for quite a while so we almost always have some on hand.  I also usually have cans of stewed tomatoes in the cupboard as well.  One of the great things about pasta is that you always find something to top it with, even if it’s just butter and garlic.  (not that butter and garlic a healthy choice)  I bought the thin spaghetti, that’s what was on sale.  In regular pasta I usually by the angel hair, because it cooks in just 4 minutes, but this stuff cooks in 6 minutes so that’s ok.

I think I’m just gonna keep it simple and do pasta with marinara, and maybe some chicken with it.  Since the pasta is brown it doesn’t look terribly appetizing, but it’s good to try new things, right?
