Since I struck out finding a number for dietary cholesterol intake on the Heart Association web site, I decided to do a quick search on google. First I search “low cholesterol” and a bunch of articles come up about is low cholesterol being bad for you, low cholesterol foods, and recipes. I try again, this time I try to be as specific as I can and I search for “how much dietary cholesterol should I consume” BINGO!
I find this:
On a day to day basis, this means you should limit your average cholesterol intake to less than 300 milligrams per day. But, if you have been diagnosed with heart disease, this should be reduced further to an intake of less than 200 milligrams per day. – See more at:
