Ok let’s try again… “31 days of recipes for the happy cook”.  I want to be a happy cook.  Let’s see.  We have Beef Tagine with butternut squash, nope.  Cavatappi with browned Brussel sprouts and buttery bread crumbs, double nope. Broccoli steaks with tofu fries, yes Dave tofu.  Okay that’s a no.  Oh boy pizza! Oh, no… it’s sausage and kale pesto pizza with blistered tomato-arugula salad…what?  Moving on…

Encounter problem two, meals with ingredients that are unusual (to us).  Like cavatappi with browned Brussel sprouts and buttery bread crumbs or braised kale and couscous.  I’m sure that to many, many, people with the time and taste buds for these recipes they are totally yummy.  I fully admit that Dave and I are boring and basic when it comes to food.   We aren’t foodies, not even close.  Neither one of us is into cooking.  We do like good food, but I guess it’s just run of the mill type food, like steak.  I also don’t really want to have to shop at the health food store for dinner.  Then there’s also the fact that there’s no way I’m getting Dave the meat and potatoes guy to eat Brussel sprouts or couscous.
